Get Ready for Tax Day

Posted by The Kapoosh® Team on

Tax Day

What is the most stressful part of April? Tax Day. Usually, the stress about this day happens when you've waited until the last minute to get all your documents together and file.

It can be helpful to save any forms or receipts you may need come time to file throughout the year in a designated location. Whether it's a file in a desk drawer or an envelope in your fire box, keeping your tax documents organized will relieve stress down the road.

After tax season, evaluate and take note of any changes you may want to make for the coming year. If you ended up owing money, be sure to know why, you may need to change your withholding information, or put more money into your 401K.

Tax Day this year is on Tuesday, April 18th. By this date, everyone must file their taxes, and if you owe money payment is due by this date as well. Keep in mind that you will want to hold onto your tax documents and to file information for three years. Keep it all in one folder or envelope labeled with the year, and shred the documents when you are ready to dispose of them.
