Need a Cheat Day? Celebrate Ditch Your New Year's Resolution Day
Have you been hard are work trying to keep your new year's resolution to eat healthier this year? Healthy eating is a great goal, but remember you're more likely to stick with it long term if you allow for a cheat day now and then.
We're in the third week of the year now, and if you haven't given yourself a cheat day, you deserve one. Just remember not to go too overboard, listen to your body, if you're full. Don't push it. Another reminder, one cheat day doesn't mean you have to give up on the whole goal. Take your day, enjoy it, then get right back on track the next morning.
Changing your habits can be hard. Taking it one day at a time, and making sure your expectations aren't too high will improve your chances of being successful. Re-evaluate your goals each month, to make sure you are still on track, and make any changes to help stay on track. Holding yourself accountable throughout the year makes sure your resolution is more than just something that sounded like a good idea on December 31, it's a goal that you can accomplish.
Wednesday, January 18th is National Ditch Your New Year's Resolution Day, order off the salad menu, make your favorite dessert, give in to your favorite cheat. Savor it. Enjoy it. Then on January 19th grab your healthy meal prepped lunch from home, hit the gym on the way to work and work towards your next treat.
